description La salud mental es un estado de bienestar en el que la persona afronta el estrés usual de la vida en familia y en comunidad la cual se puede ver afectada generando trastornos mentales los cuales son una alteración de tipo emocional, cognitivo y/o comportamiento, en que quedan afectados procesos psicológicos básicos como son la emoción, motivación, cognición, conciencia, conducta, percepción, sensación, aprendizaje, y el lenguaje. Objetivo: Describir el estado de salud mental de las mujeres de un barrio del municipio de Piedecuesta mediante el instrumento cuestionario de salud general GHQ-12 en el primer semestre de 2018. Método: Enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal. Población y muestra: 10 mujeres de un barrio del municipio de Piedecuesta, entre los 18 y 45 años. Técnica y recolección: se realizó por tres estudiantes de enfermería de séptimo semestre, en un barrio del municipio de Piedecuesta, donde se implementó el instrumento de salud general GHQ-12. Resultados: Corresponden a una prueba piloto realizada el día 14 de Abril de 2018, a 10 mujeres, de las cuales el 10% obtuvo un puntaje de 20, evidenciándoseundeterioroencuantoalasaludmental,otro10%obtuvo21 puntos,conmásgradodedeterioroenlasaludmental. Conclusiones: Las variables sociodemográfica afectan de manera negativa pero mínima la salud mental de las mujeres, debido a que los trastornos mentales se presentaron en los estratos altos y la mujer que mayor alteración mental presento en el estudio se encuentra separada

Objective: To describe the state of mental health of the women of a district of the municipality of Piedecuesta by means of the general health questionnaire instrument GHQ-12 in the first semester of 2018. Method: Quantitative descriptive approach of cross-sectional type. Population and sample: 10 women of a district of the municipality of Piedecuesta, between 18 and 45 years old. Technique and collection: It was carried out by three nursing students of the seventh semester, in a neighborhood of the municipality of Piedecuesta, where the general health instrument GHQ-12 was implemented. Results: They correspond to a pilot test carried out on April 14, 2018, to 10 women, of which 10% obtained a score of 20, evidencing a deterioration in terms of mental health, another 10% obtained 21 points, with more degree of deterioration in mental health. Conclusions: The sociodemographic variables negatively but minimally affect the mental health of women, because mental disorders occurred in the upper strata and the woman with the greatest mental disorder in the study is separated.Resumen. -- Abstract. -- Introducción. -- 1.
