Introduction: This article described a simple, rapid, sensitive methodology for the identification and qualitative determination of phosphine and hydrocyanic cyanide in biological (i.e., blood and stomach contents) and non-biological samples by gas chromatography (gc). Methodology: The foregoing was carried out by a selective nitrogen-phosphorus detector (npd) and Headspace (hs) volatile autosampler using acetonitrile (acn) as internal standard (istd). The procedure involves taking and pouring into a vial 1 mL of the sample, which is added sulfuric acid. The vial is tightly sealed and subjected to incubation at 70 °C for 5 minutes. Finally, 1 mL of gas phase is injected into the gas chromatograph. Results: The limits of detection and quantification found for both phosphine and hydrocyanic acid were 0.04 mg/L and 0.2 mg/L, respectively. Conclusions: A chromatographic method was implemented and validated to allow simultaneous identification and quantitative determination of hydrocyanic acid and phosphine in biological samples such as blood and stomach contents. |

Metodología: lo anterior se llevó a cabo por medio de un detector selectivo de nitrógeno-fósforo (npd) y automuestreador de volátiles Headspace (hs), empleando acetonitrilo (acn) como estándar interno (istd). El procedimiento consiste en tomar y servir en un vial 1mL de la muestra a la cual se le adiciona ácido sulfúrico; el vial se sella herméticamente y se somete a incubación a 70 °C por 5 minutos. Finalmente, se inyecta 1 mL de fase gaseosa al cromatógrafo de gases. Resultados: los límites de detección y cuantificación hallados, tanto para la fosfina, como para el ácido cianhídrico, fueron 0,04 mg/L y 0,2 mg/L, respectivamente. Conclusiones: se implementó y se validó un método cromatográfico que permite la identificación simultánea y la determinación cualitativa de ácido cianhídrico y fosfina en muestras biológicas como sangre y contenido gástrico. Introdução: neste artigo, descreve-se uma metodologia sensível, rápida e simples para a identificação e determinação qualitativa de fosfina e ácido cianídrico em amostras biológicas (por exemplo, sangue e conteúdo gástrico) e não biológicas por cromatografia gasosa (gc). Metodologia: isso foi realizado por meio de um detector seletivo de nitrogênio-fósforo (npd) e amostrador de voláteis Headspace (hs), que emprega acetonitrila (acn) como padrão interno (istd). O procedimento consiste em tomar e servir num tubo de vidro vial 1mL da amostra à qual é adicionado ácido sulfúrico; o vial é selado hermeticamente e submete-se à incubação a 70 °C por 5 minutos. Finalmente, injeta-se 1 mL de fase gasosa ao cromatógrafo a gás. Resultados: os limites de detecção e quantificação encontrados, tanto para a fosfina quanto para o ácido cianídrico, foram 0,04 mg/L e 0,2 mg/L, respectivamente.
