description La epilepsia mioclónica juvenil afecta a aproximadamente 8,5 millones de personas en el mundo; siendo la causa más común de crisis epilépticas hereditarias en personas con epilepsia en la población general. Tradicionalmente se indicaba que no se presentaban anomalías morfológicas estructurales o funcionales y que su respuesta al tratamiento era adecuada, ambos conceptos debatidos hoy en día; siendo, por tanto, la evidencia actual inconsistente en cuanto a su estudio. El objetivo de la investigación es postular un modelo de análisis funcional y molecular en pacientes con epilepsia mioclónica juvenil farmacorresistente en un centro de referencia para epilepsia en la ciudad de Medellín, brindando hipótesis básicas en respuesta a una pregunta clínica.
